HLS Swag Love!

I wasn’t joking when I said my coming-home suitcase counted as my Strength Training for the travel day (which doesn’t say a lot about my ST routine…).  We left the HLS loaded with swag from their Sponsors!

Usually I don’t reach for chips, granola bars, or processed snacks. But I also don’t usually turn down free, mostly healthy, food!

These little candies supplements may or may not have found their way into my mouth more than once today. Calcium deficient, I am not! Thanks, Adora!

The taste resembles milk chocolate, more than the “dark” its label bears. But, either way, it’s a treat that provides some essential nutrients. We’ll get along very well.

Another product I wouldn’t grab in stores:

I never feel fully satisfied from “light” crispy snack foods such as these, and I’m not usually impressed by the long ingredient lists either. That being said, Quaker was a huge sponsor for HLS – they provided a delicious breakfast spread on Saturday morning, among making other things possible! Again, not one to turn down free snacks, I improvised. Crispy light “Delights” + something that fills me up:

Crispy Delight Yogurt Snack

3/4 c Non-fat Plain Greek Yogurt (protein!)
Handful (6-7) of Quaker True Delights, crumbled/crushed
Drizzled Agave
Fresh Strawberry & Peach Chunks

What are your go-to snack foods? Would you reach for one of the above?

  1. Congrats on such a successful and wonderful HLS! I’m sure it’s sad to be over but how cool that you can relive some of it with the great swags!

Hey Heather! So great to meet you this weekend!
I am with you – I don’t do a lot of processed snacks but I LOVED the swag. My favorites so far are those calcium supplements and the Attune probiotic bars. Most of the “chippy” kind of snacks will be going to the hubby. 🙂

My favourite snacks are fruits! Nature’s perfect snacks! Apples, pears, bananas, pineapple chunks, etc. Don’t do much processed, packaged food. But I’ve to say your crispy delight yoghurt snack looks great, though! And I love the red hot pants you wore to the Healthy Living Summit. 🙂

  4. Calcium deficient I am not, haaa.

OK fancy little Quaker mixins I’m going to have to try.

My favorite are Kashi bars, they are perf in a pinch.

I would definitely go for the Delights. I used to buy Quaker’s flavored rice cakes all the time and break them up into either yogurt or cottage cheese.

  6. I have two bags of those Quaker Delights…can’t wait to try them in my yogurt! I could eat ’em all day, but never feel satisfied. Adding them to yogurt is the perfect solution. Thanks!

  7. Yay freebies!!! I love trying out new stuff that I pick up at expos and wouldn’t have tried otherwise.

  8. you gotta love free stuff! for a quick snack i usually reach for a larabar (or half of one anyway). it keeps me pretty full and tastes great 🙂

p.s. i’m totally down for wednesday, but might need a ride home since nate won’t be able to come…?

  9. Like you, I have found that the processed stuff doesn’t fill me up super well. I usually add some fruit or something to it. Adding yogurt to cereal is a great idea!

  10. i’ve recently started nom nom nom-ing yogurt/fresh fruit/granola. an old standby, but a good one! your yogurt cup looks delicious!!

  11. I too am not a big fan of the light crispy snacks, but I think I would be willing to try crumbling them in the greek yogurt. I think that will be a must try this week.

  12. Yeah, airy light things tend not to fill me up so they are often a waste of cals and $. But yest for example, we grabbed some cheez its for snacking a bit on the drive home. Sometimes, you just have to. Usually, my snacks consist of: yogurt, a banana, veggies w/ hummus, nuts, apple, etc.

These snacks have been really great for work travel, but I wouldn’t buy the quaker crisps – they hardly filled me up at all.

  14. mmmm!!! those snacks look TASTY!
